Schwarzenegger Wants His Tank Back
"Not sure what it is about this story exactly, but it made me laugh. Had to share it. I took this photo of Arnold backstage during the men's bodybuilding show."
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says he asked an Ohio museum to return his Austrian army tank because he was concerned about the upkeep and wants to offer rides to schoolchildren.
Schwarzenegger, a native of Austria, said he plans to offer the rides to inner-city children in the Los Angeles area as a reward for staying in school, avoiding drugs and working hard.
Warren Motts, founder and director of Motts Military Museum, said Schwarzenegger acquired the M47 American-made tank from the Austrian government and had it shipped to Florida. He transported it to a Columbus, Ohio, shopping mall in 1999 when he opened a Planet Hollywood there.
Schwarzenegger lent the tank to the museum, located in Groveport, in 2000.
"I'm pleased we had the opportunity to have it and let people see it," Motts said Tuesday. "It was neat to have a Hollywood connection."
Motts said the tank was removed from the museum Feb. 19, hoisted by crane onto a truck and transported to California.
Aaron McLear, Schwarzenegger's press secretary, said the governor plans to store the tank at a private location.
Schwarzenegger said he had offered trips to his movie sets as an incentive to kids, but since he became governor and stopped making movies in 2003, he hasn't had anything enticing to offer.
He said children just aren't that excited about a tour of the state Capitol.
Schwarzenegger entered the army in 1965, at a time when one year of military service was compulsory in Austria.
Dexter Jackson Arnold Classic 2008 just before the finals
Dexter Jackson backstage moments before his victory Saturday night at the Arnold Classic 2008. He told me he was cold and headed into a small private room. The room smelled of vomit and I warned him, he laughed and paused before he entered. Afraid to touch him and mess up his perfectly oiled physique. Dexter is a great guy and has always been one of favorite male bodybuilders of all time.

Betty Pariso IFBB Pro
In October 1996 Betty Pariso won the NPC and became the first woman in history at age 40 to earn her IBFF International Pro Status. She is now one of the top Bodybuilders in the world today.
Betty owns and operates an industrial equipment & parts distributions company. She is also owner and promoter of the southwest USA Health & Fitness Expo.
Betty is married to Ed Pariso and the mother of a 19 year old Daughter ( Lacy ) and a 16 year old son ( Justin ).
She DOES NOT do muscle worship, or wrestle sessions. When the contest is over Betty is back to being a wife, mother and back to running her business.
The fans of the sport tend to be very loyal and very supportive. Female bodybuilding will never be and is not intended to be a general public accepted sport, which is okay.
Betty says " I like a sport that very few people can do, that is what makes it attractive to me. I'm a very proud to be a pro in the IFBB and involved in a sport with so many outstanding woman. I thank all of the fans for your kind words and support. "
Betty's immediate goal is to win a pro-show, she has placed 2nd in her last event and feels that she is very close to achieving this goal. Betty's long term goal, which is only about years away, is to be the first woman in history to win a pro show at the age of 50. She competes only for the fun of competition, and as an athlete she likes to see changes and the ability to get better. Betty's site
Schwarzenegger rescues swooning girls, of course he does
LONDON: Arnold Schwarzenegger is neck deep in politics these days but he is still an action hero at heart and rushed to rescue two schoolgirls who fainted while on stage with him. Schwarzenegger, who is governor of California, was giving a speech at Cesar Chavez high school when the incident happened.
The 59-year-old stopped talking mid-sentence and hurried over to where one of the schoolgirls standing on stage had collapsed to the floor, said contactmusic.com. After helping her off the stage, he returned to tell the audience: "Alright she's fine, she's walking again." The governor then advised the remaining schoolgirls on how to avoid a similar fate. He said: "Okay, everybody who's standing back here, loosen up your knees, don't stay there with stiff knees because that's how you faint. Loosen up and relax - do some sit-ups, some push-ups." Unfortunately, his handy hints failed to work as another schoolgirl fell to the floor. "I tell you, I've done a lot of speeches but I've never made people faint. It's unbelievable what's going on here," a despairing Schwarzenegger said. link
Babel...a confused mixture of sounds or voices

The Wall Street Journal reports that the Recently injured California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER [it says Arnie took no painkillers, I am impressed] presented the final award of the night (Best Picture -- Drama) at the Golden Globes.
[In a stroke of Holywood irony, Arnold presented the award to the movie "Babel".]
Arnold's appearance at any public event always involves hundreds of California state troopers and bomb sniffing dogs. I took this photo backstage at the Arnold Classic.
This dog looks ferocious, but he did not stop me from getting some great candids of Arnold and candids of bodybuilders' asses.
