New York City adores Dr. Dave
Friday, April 24, 2009 at 21:17 Last night I attended a fundraiser honoring my good friend Dr. Dave and two wonderful women.
Little Missionary's Day Nursery School hosted the East Village's 5th annual Sara Curry Awards Benefit for children entitled "Let them be heard".

Not knowing what to expect, we walked into a stunning old church where the event was being held. The large room was beautifully lit, dark with a blue tint coming from the Altar. White roses with gold glitter were perfectly placed at the center of each table. Food and drink were flowing freely. A cool band was playing,"Betty", who I have seen before. They do the theme song to the HBO show The L Word. I even have a Betty shirt. Alyson Palmer was the lead singer this night.

Speeches were given and awards presented. Dr. Dave was a major hit for all his generous help in the community. He is loved by all on the Lower East Side. Some of the stories were very touching and make me want to volunteer to help others less fortunate and in terrible conditions all over the world. Maybe I will join The Peace Corps.
The rest of the evening was outstanding. Dinner was served from sushi to stuff I do not eat. All very good and healthy too. Then the silent auction was going on in the background and I bid on a big sliver heart on a dog tag chain. I won it with lots of other bidders wanting it also, but it's around my neck now.

"Betty" played some more and we danced the rest of the night. Met some awesome people and left the benefit extremely inspired to help my fellow mankind. Another great night in New york City.
