George Lucas buys a Hendrix in Maui

Walking around Lahaina, Hawaii,  I strolled by an art gallery, Celebrites, that screamed "Lori".  I went inside. This gallery had truly exceptional paintings of musicians from Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Elvis, Steven Tyler,  John Lennon, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, U2, Nirvana, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Aerosmith, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton ,Ringo Starr and the list went on and on. Very unusual paintings of these rockers.

The one painting that knocked my socks off was of Jimi Hendrix. Yes, I do love him as a musician, but this painting looked very real, maybe too real. It seemed as if Jimi was jumping off the canvas. The artist is Kruger, a German guy. I stared at this piece for quite some time. Finally Brandon came over and gave me some information. So, I was not the only one who loved this painting of Hendrix.

Just the other day, according to Brandon, George Lucas had walked in with his kids and their friends (sounded like a ton of kids) who were  having a fun time running around in the store and checking out everything.  George's daughter also loved the painting of Hendrix, and guess what happened? George bought it  for her on the spot.

Now I am trying to imagine what her bedroom looks like. Lucky girl.

I have been a long time fan of George Lucas and  became so excited to hear that he had this painting hanging in his house somewhere. Yes, it made me want it more.

I met Aimee a few minutes later, who is also an incredible artist in her own right. Check out Aimee's work. She explained to me that she sold George the piece and had was lucky enough to have a photo taken with him and the painting she sold him. I wanted that photo.

Aimee was so awesome and sweet, she emailed it right over to me and now I can show it to everyone else.

Very nice.
