Flexing at the sleep clinic

So far not much has come out of the sleep clinic. It was a very nice place. Difficult to sleep while you are wired to hundreds of plugs and monitors for hours. Can't even get up to go to the bathroom without asking to be unplugged.
The guy who was my sleep technician, Raj, was a wonderful guy. He was there if I needed anything. He even took photos of me so I would remember this fun night out. The place was like a fancy hotel. There was food like jello and pudding and no caffeine tea and soda. I could have had a really great time if some of the other patients would have come out of their rooms to party or even talk. No one but me was up late.
The bed was nice and comfortable. It has a button to make the bed softer or harder. I played with that all night long. There was a television and tons of channels to watch. I even had my computer. The idea was to sleep so they could get a read of my sleep patterns. So I decided to shut eveything down and try to sleep. That was not such a good idea because as soon as I attempted to sleep, someone made an announcement that went directly into my room and told me to do some odd things like move my toes and feet and junk like that. Then I was wide awake again.
At about 5:00,guessing, because they would not tell me the time and my cell phone was accross the room and I was too plugged in to get it, a fire alarm went off. Are you kidding?
This was out of control. After a while this lovely hotel feeling place began to feel like a small prison and I just wanted to get the hell out of there as fast as I could. Finally a person walked in and I jumped up "Can I leave yet?" "No Lori, you are here to sleep. do you think you have slept enough yet? We don't think you have."
"Well what time is it?" "It does not matter what time it is, Lori, you are here to sleep, so relax and go back to sleep" "But I'm not tired, I want to go home!" They door shut. Holy crap..this was turning into the Twilight Zone and I was starting to freak out. This was not fun anymore.
What has come out of this whole process? Absolutly nothing. After tons of doctor follow ups with every king of practitioner you can imagine for months, they found nothing wrong and were not able to help me. If they had found something terribly wrong only then could they have maybe helped me, with drugs, oxigen masks and fun stuff like that. I'm sure they enjoyed billing my insurance thousands of dollars. My premium is going to double.
For now, I will continue to be an "insomniac". Although I have taken matters into my own hands and began my Buddhist studies again. This seems to help me. At least when I take my reading material to bed, I get so bored, that I fall asleep. It's really not that complicated when it comes down to it. If you are bored enough, you will go to sleep. Actually, another simple and easy technique which my dad has been telling me about for years. Time for bed.
Blogging can be boring too. Good night.
