Lost my grip and ate snow
Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 02:11 I didn't know it was going to snow when I decided to go to Mystic, CT. for the weekend to visit my friends.
The snow started Saturday evening and it snowed all night and all day Sunday. We ran out and grabbed the innertubes and found the steepest hills. I jumped on one of the tubes and flew down that snowy giant hill a few times. No problem. You know how that goes. About the thrid time I told my friend to push me so I would fly down the snow hill really fast and make that airborn experience a lot scarier.
There I went...my hat flew off, I went airborn and just at that second my favorite ski hat flew off my head. Without thinking I reached for it and, of course, lost my balance. I went flopping and tumbling down the giant snow mountain. I was thrown off the tube and into the smow where I crashed "again". This time I did not break anything. It was amazing, I kept going and going till I hit the bottom. I landed with a mouth full of snow, at least it was not yellow. Frozen hair also and I could not feel my butt frozen solid. I found my hat later.
Never let go of the innertube side grips my buddies told me later, especially when you are about to go airborn. I was not hurt badly, but I felt like a real jerk. Some local people asked me if I was alright while the smaller kids laughed hysterically at me. Made me feel great.
Remember, when you are attempting to fly down a big hill on an innertube, hold on very, very tight.
