Great movie. The Joker is quite amazing.
If you have not seen it, see it this weekend.
It's long, so use the bathroom before the movie starts.

The Dark Knight Review: Fantastic Realism by Jesper Sellerberg

About halfway through The Dark Knight, I realized what was going on and why it looked the way it does. This is perhaps the cleanest looking film I’ve ever seen. When games nowadays try to be graphically gritty to merit the buzzword (Mass Effects applies a “film grain” filter to make the experience more cinematic), The Dark Knight thrives in cleanliness. It is, however, realistic cleanliness. The film is gritty, but not in the visual sense. Nor is it completely realistic. It is a world very much grounded in Chicago as it is in Gotham City, and as such it becomes a fantastic, realistic world.

What I realized was that this film is a realistic depiction of a fantasy world. The grittiness comes through the plot. From the first minute to the last 152nd, Christopher Nolan fleshes out the events of so many plot lines that could merit films on their own, that it is not for nothing some might find the film exhausting. The Dark Knight resembles perhaps more Infernal Affairs (subsequently The Departed) and Heat than Batman Begins, and this is what I found troubling at first. What Nolan does with this film, however, plot wise, visually and musically, is introducing an incredible suspense throughout the first hour and 45 minutes that ascends The Dark Knight into being something short of a masterpiece, if not for all of its, sometimes, fatal flaws.

I suppose this is either an act of desperation, hopefulness, or just stating my own opinion. I am a single guy with high standards. But aside from general maturity and mutual attraction, there are only two things that I am seeking in a female mate that we MUST have in common: (a) striving towards peak physical condition, and (b) an interest in paranormal, psychic, and spiritual phenomena. I find that it is very rare to find a person that shares BOTH of these qualities (I suppose they draw from opposite parts of the brain).

But what I also found was rare, which you may be able to help me with, was being unable to find any decent pics that portrayed both male and female bodybuilders (or muscular athletes) side-by-side in order to place one upon my desktop on my compter. I've searched hours and hours on the internet to find this image that would inspire me each time I boot up my computer--a vision of what could be. But all I could find, for the most part, were photos of individuals only. You would think that, as vast as the world wide web is, such a request would not be so hard to come by. I was appalled, to say the least. Any ideas?

I wouldn't mind having a picture of a couple posing on stage together, but honestly I am not so crazy about the oily look that bodybuilders display in these events. I would rather see them in swimwear at the beach, for example--not all greased up. They don't have to be flexing, either, as long as the muscles and definition are apparent. So I guess I'm going for a more natural look, of a couple that is extremely fit.

I was just reviewing my comment today and realized how randomly it was placed! I did not fully realize the context of where I was posting. I was merely browsing the internet and wanted to contact you regarding my frustration with failed attempts to find good pics of male and female bodybuilders posing together and wondering if you had any suggestions. So posting on your blog at this topic was kinda like a bird finding a nice limb to land on. Sorry if it wasn't the appropriate forum to discuss my unrelated concerns.
