Jet Pack Man successfully crosses Royal Gorge with jet pack

A stuntman wearing a jetpack has flown 1500 feet across a canyon in Colorado. 

A daredevil wearing a hydrogen peroxide-powered jet pack has flown 1,500 feet across a canyon in southern Colorado.

It took Eric Scott just 21 seconds to complete the stunt on Monday, flying over the Royal Gorge at a speed of 75 mph.

Despite the canyon being 1,100 feet deep, Mr Scott did not use a parachute, his sponsor Go Fast Sports & Beverage said.

The jet pack was developed by Jet Pack International for promotional use by Go Fast.

Two other companies - one in Mexico, one in New Zealand - are also trying to market jet packs or rocket belts.

In September, a pilot became the first person to complete a solo flight across the English Channel using a home made rocket powered wing strapped to his back.
