Blue-ray TV and big giant bubbles
Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 20:45 Today I visited the Apple Store in Midtown Manhattan which is open 24/7. I played with the new I-Phone. The store was totally packed and I had to wait on line to touch it. I am still not sure if I will get one. It was an immediate love/hate thing I had going on with it, just like I do with this crazy city I live in. How could one little piece of metal be allowed to be so important in one's life.
It sort of bugged me holding it and it is still bugging me that it had so much control over me. I had to play with it and check out every function. I did not have a choice.
[It will never only be about technology for me. I still love blowing bubbles the old fashioned way
]
I then headed over to the very large Sony store on Madison Avenue. This store is wild. It has all the latest LCD TVs and Blue-ray players, movie projectors, flat screens, all in living room setups. The store is set up so you can sit down in modern and comfortable couches and chairs. I almost fell asleep after I relaxed and started watching the movies that were playing. Blue-ray technology is quite amazing. I have never seen a clearer picture, it was almost too clear. I could see every pimple and nose hair on the face of the actor's faces. Set up for the rich and famous, or maybe just people who have tons of money and do not know what to do with it.
My dad's wife Maria, is a makeup artist as well as real artist. She told me that because the Blue-ray is so clear, she now has to air brush her clients faces for TV and movies. This means she had to drag a heavy tank around with here whenever she goes to work.
Life is getting complicated.
