Jet Blues

I am a woman torn between two homes. One in the supposedly sophisticated New York metropolitan area, the other in Palm Beach County in South Florida. Better weather here in Florida, better style back there. Back in New York things are direct, out here things tend to be, well they live on a curve. Back in NYC we have accidents, out here we have pile-ups! On the Major Degan Expressway, young Puerto Rican men toss beer cans. Out here Mexicans toss tacos. Out here the cops say, "Have a nice day"; after they give you a ticket. Back there I would tell them "I better not see you again."

An inexplicable difference is that the homeless back there ask for a buck to get a cup of coffee at McDonalds. Out here they ask for a coupon to go to Starbucks.

So I travel back and forth between New York and Florida. And to keep my sanity I vacation in Europe? Where do you take your holidays?

How long have you been living here? I think you have to get used to it here and find fun things to do. I'm having trouble getting used to it.
