Peace and Quiet and a Steam Cleaning
Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 12:26 Total exhaustion. It's amazing that I have been able to workout, run my business and have relationships, not to mention taking pristine care of my cats and new kitten. By the time I actually get tired, it's around 3:30 or 4:00 a.m. EST. I am hooked on the Health Discovery channel now. I watch it at least 4 times a week. You have to have a strong stomach to watch most of the programs on this channel. They show it all (some dramatizations, some not), bloody car accidents, trains running over people, brain tumors, gun shot wounds, brain surgery, broken bone surgery, heads exploding, the list goes on.
I love it. It is a thrill. It is so interesting to see how the medical profession has evolved in some areas.
Yesterday, I had an appointment to have my carpet steam cleaned by a man whom I have never met before.
[Here he is]
He came to my door very early in the morning. Maybe I had been asleep for a few hours or less. "Your carpet appointment, I am here to clean your carpets." I had not even taken anything off the floors to allow him to do his job. I called Christopher to come over immediately and help. I was dead to the world and ready to send the guy home with his gigantic cleaning machine, buckets and all that he had brought with him in his van. I did not have the heart, however, plus my carpets are light beige and very dirty, which upsets me to no end.
"Hi there, come in" and I then asked Chris to lift the junk off the floors. Then I jumped back into my bed and let him in to clean and talk on his cell phone, which he did very loudly. When I woke up, my bedroom carpet was wet. Lilly Belle was running around on one foot, hopping from one spot to another because she did not like the wet feeling on her feet. I could understand that, I didn't either so I put my slippers on. Lilly Belle does not have any yet. She looked like a strange sort of kangaroo type of animal jumping around from place to place.
[This is me]
The odd thing is I slept through all the noise of the steam cleaning and the man in my bedroom without waking or moving. I guess he just cleaned around me as I slept with my earplugs and black t-shirt over my face. What a sight.
Poor guy. I can't fall asleep, but once I am sleeping I am sure I would sleep through a NBA playoff game, let alone one guy steaming my carpets.
