So Tony, for all practical purposes, killed Christopher [Michael Imperioli] by smothering him after he was choking on his own blood in the aftermath of their car accident.
I am beginning to hate the character of Anthony Soprano.  I guess that is where David Chase is expertly leading me.  Was is just me or were we led to believe last night that nobody other than Christopher's wife and Carmela were in the least bit upset at the wake.  Soprano fans will remember that this is the second major car accident that Tony survived.  The first was with Adriana, [Drea de Matteo] Christopher's girlfriend, who was also brutally eliminated by Tony's direct order.

Tony then takes off to Las Vegas and has sex with Christopher's Las Vegas girlfriend (goomah), payback for Christopher's fling with the real estate woman trying to buy Tony's fish market for her Jamba Juice client.  Tony passed on the sex out of his post-gun shot Carmella guilt.  Christopher swooped in and scored with her, and then rubbed in Tony's face in his all not to subtle manner. 

And then the portrayal of Tony in Cleaver as the shouting, overbearing mob boss who was having sex with the Christopher-like Cleaver (Video) character's girlfriend.  All along Christopher believed Tony was having sex with Adriana.

Implosion is a good word to describe the apparent coming demise of my favorite New Jersey crime family.  Sad to watch, anticlimactic in a way, but extremely realistic and dramatically plausible.  I will watch this episode at least 3 more times and give you more thoughts.

The Tony Soprano myopic world of mob and family life is totally exposed by a single hallucinogenic induced glimpse of the Nevada desert. Such an understanding of life's meaning is clear, if only for a moment, because for sure Tony will return to New Jersey to the same old world of confusion.
