Last Girl On Earth
Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 16:45 I bumped into Randy yesterday on the side street in Ho-bacon. I did not know what to say to him about his loss of Roxie and the way she was killed. Randy was very sweet and tried to explain his version of the accident. He even surprisingly took most of the blame. I could not hold back my tears and I cried so hard that snot ran out of my nose. Christopher gave Randy some money for dinner or whatever.
Randy was sitting with a friend, clearly still in shock. I told him that I had read that some people in the town were thinking of getting him a parrot. Randy laughed. As I was about to head to the gym, a guy walked up to Randy and told him how sorry he was for his loss. It often takes a tragedy to bring out the good. I pray something positive comes out of this sad event.
Janet called me as I was leaving the gym. She was going to be celebrating our friend Jeff's birthday. Jeff wanted to see a band "Deni Bonet at the Red Lion on Bleeker Street. The Red Lion is a famous and popular music venue on Bleeker Street in Greenwich Village. The Red Lion has been there since I cut high school to hang out and start trouble in Washington Square Park.
It was also Deni's birthday and she sure let us know. She was in a celebratory mood. Jeff sent her a glass of champagne. Demi Bonet's band is an all woman band. She is a great musician. Very talented playing the violin, accordion and who knows what else. She sang a song called "Last Girl On Earth," a song about how life would be if there were no other women left on earth besides herself and she could have any guy she wanted, whenever she wanted. That is every women's fantasy, not one you would admit. She uses this song title as her pseudonym on her blog. She sang another from her new CD called "Yoko." It was something like "Don't be a Yoko" referring to Yoko Ono and how she supposedly was the cause of the Beatles split. I nevertheless remain a Yoko fan forever.
Deni has either recorded or performed with many artists, including REM, Sarah McLachlan, Chris Whitley, Cyndi Lauper, Daniel Lanois, Gravity Kills, and Robyn Hitchcock. Her set lasted about 45 minutes. The second she was finished, Janet and everyone said they had to go home. "Are you kidding, I asked? I just got here, shit!" The night is young and it is so beautiful out. My grandmother could out party them every night of the week and that is not a joke.

I went back to the Path train. I felt like I took the ride just because I was looking for excitement. WOW, train ride, let's do it again, Mommy!! Got home and kissed Lilly Belle and told her how much I love her until she bit my face. She wanted to play, not to hug and kiss. That is her thing right now. She likes to play all day and all night. Quentin is getting in great shape from being chased, just like I hoped, and Mangus is now used to her slapping him in the face for no reason. Life goes on....
