A 62-year-old great-grandmother has joined an exclusive club, as one of the oldest women in the world to successfully give birth. The healthy six-pound, nine-ounce baby boy is the 12th child born to Janise Wulf of Redding, Calif. Baby Adam is the second child born to Wulf and third husband, Scott, 48. Their other son is three-and-a-half. Wulf, who has diabetes and has been blind since birth, also has 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her oldest child is 40. Brad Garrison, the Associated Press Janise Wulf and her husband are seen shortly before she went for caesarean section. Wulf said she wanted to raise a family with Scott, who was not able to have children during his previous marriage. And "I hate to raise one alone, without a sibling," said Wulf, who was impregnated both times through in vitro fertilization. "I am no longer working; I have a lot of time to devote," she said. "I had raised all my ... children and remarried. "My husband is retired from the service, and he was there to help me," she added."I have always loved children, obviously." Scott Wulf said he'd always wanted children. He said their two sons are beyond what he'd hoped was possible.Family members said Friday's delivery went smoothly, despite health concerns involving Wulf. She experienced swelling and higher blood pressure earlier in the week, prompting doctors to perform the Caesarean section a week early. The oldest woman on record to give birth is Adriana Iliescu, 66, of Romania, who had a Caesarean section Jan. 15, 2005. thespec
