"Menéndez improved her own World Javelin Throw record to 71.70m (1619 points), which was the highest point total during the entire Championships, furthermore, it is the best performance ever by any athlete – male or female – in the IAAF World Rankings. With this score Menéndez is not only the best women’s field performer, but obviously also the best female performer of the month."
