03.10.2005:Schwarzenegger Calls For Tougher Rules to End Bodybuilder Steroid Use

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is calling on the regulating bodies of bodybuilding to put a stop to steroid abuse.

Schwarzenegger, who has admitted to using steroids to help win seven Mr. Olympia titles in 1970s and 80s, said he also advocates bringing together a collection of the sport's leading figures for a summit aimed at easing the problem.

"We have to step up the testing procedures, and find other ways, and be more aggressive with it," Schwarzenegger said at the Arnold Classic, an annual bodybuilding contest that bears his name.
