Bodybuilder Titus Fights Extradition On Slaying

(AP) STOUGHTON, Mass. Husband and wife bodybuilders, Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan, are fighting attempts to transfer them from Massachusetts to Nevada to answer murder charges.

The couple said during a hearing Tuesday in a court in Stoughton, Massachusetts that they would fight rendition.

The two professional body builders pleaded innocent to fugitive charges and were ordered held without bail.

Another hearing is scheduled in Stoughton on January 12th.

Titus and Ryan were arrested last week on a warrant issued in Las Vegas in the murder of their personal assistant, Melissa James.Titus has reportedly told police he and James had had a secret affair.

Her body was found earlier this month in the trunk of Ryan's burned-out Jaguar.

In Las Vegas today, bail was set at 13-thousand dollars for Anthony Gross, who is accused of being an accessory to the murder.

Titus, 37, (although some reports say he is 40), often places in the Top Ten in professional bodybuilding competitions. He is often on bodybuilding magazine covers and he has also had run-ins with the law before. Ten years ago he faced conspiracy charges in Louisiana over alleged steroid use. And he also spent time in jail from July 1997 to June 1999 on drug offenses.
