Dan McMinn - Blogger of the Revolution
I'm a software file editor for Celenia, a Danish software company working with Ukrainian engineers to produce software for Microsoft. I also edit for Eastern European Monitor, a non-profit sorta-monthly magazine focused on non-profit-y/human rights-y goodness in Eastern Europe.
I've been living in Ukraine since February of 2001, and living in Kyiv since June of 2003. I am here with my wife, Lesya, who also acts as the illustrious graphic designer for the site. When I say "we" on this blog, I usually mean the two of us.
Before coming to Kyiv I spent two years with the Peace Corps in Ukraine. I was in Kherson, which was a location where I could really make a difference: 95% of results on a Google search of the city will yield dating agencies, apparently the biggest industry in town. At the very least, I could explain that all American guys are not as cool as I am.
