07.09.2004: Another Steroid Arrest

"NARRAGANSETT - A University of Rhode Island student, believed to be Southern Rhode Island's main steroid dealer, was arrested on four felony drug charges Monday afternoon, after police raided his Narragansett home and recovered $29,000 in cash and an assortment of pills, vials and needles.
Jason M. Cholewa, 22, of 27 Clara Lane, was arraigned in Fourth Division District Court Tuesday morning, on charges of possession with intent to deliver steroids and Vicodin, and possession of steroids and Vicodin. He entered no plea before Associate Judge John M. McLoughlin, and was ordered held at the Adult Correctional Institutions without bail.
"He's a big fish in a little pond," said Det. Lt. Gerald Driscoll in a telephone interview Tuesday morning. "I don't ever remember, in my time, a steroid seizure of this magnitude."
