Flexing his way to final

A BODYBUILDER from Wakefield has muscled his way in to the finals of a national competition.

John Heaton, 32, from Alverthorpe, came second in the northern heat of the British Natural Bodybuilding Federation Champ-ionships in Manchester on Sunday and it was his first competition.
The personal trainer only decided to try his luck at the competition so that he could have something to work towards during his everyday workouts with clients.
He said: "I train while I'm working and I've had nothing to really go for since giving up rugby a few years ago through injury. So I thought, why not start competing? I couldn't believe it when I finished second -- my wife nearly fainted."
