Summer Montabone, a personal trainer at the Green YMCA, has earned professional status with the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.

Montabone, a 28-year-old Jackson Township resident and certified strength and conditioning specialist, has taken her passion for fitness and turned it into an impressive profession.

Last weekend, she won her class in the 2004 National Physique Committee Fitness Nationals in Dallas. That means Montabone, who ran track at Manchester High School and the University of Toledo, has earned professional status with the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.

``Now, I can enter different competitions just for professionals and I have a chance to earn prize money,'' said Montabone, a personal trainer at the Green YMCA who qualified for the national competition by winning the NPC Ohio State Fitness and Figure Champion-ships overall title in September. The event was held in Columbus.
